Mimecast email security system automatically converts Word (.doc & .docx) attachments to PDF and Excel (.xls & .xlsx) attachments to CSV when received from external emails.

How will you know?

In your email message, you will see an attached message that reads “Mimecast Attachment Protection Instructions” as shown in the screenshot below.

Double click on that message to open it, then click on Request Files or Request and Trust (details of what they mean in the screenshot below) 

Then wait a few minutes and you’ll receive the original document in the original format. 

 Please note that if someone forwards you attachments from a contact that's outside Nine's organization they need to follow these steps in order to get the original documents, and to trust the senders.
